Even endings
The answers end in 8, 6, 4, 2, 0, then around again: 48, 56, 64, 72, 80. The ones digit goes down by 2 each time.
The pattern in the 8s
The last digit of each answer, from 8 × 1 to 8 × 12. They go around in a loop of 5, so once your child spots it, they can check any answer.

Questions parents ask
How can my child learn the 8 times table?
Five minutes a day beats an hour on Sunday. Start with the facts they already know from other tables (turn 8 × 5 around and it’s 5 × 8), then learn one trick: double the number three times. Then play: answering from memory, again and again, is what makes facts stick, and a game makes them want to.
