Upton Court Grammar School

Admissions
The test
The Slough Consortium 11+, set by GL Assessment for the Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools (Herschel, Langley, St Bernard's and Upton Court): one test for all four schools, two papers of about 60 to 65 minutes covering verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English and maths.
What qualifies
A standardised score of 111 or above (the top 35% of those tested) makes a child eligible; up to 120 places then go in rank order of score and the rest by distance. For 2026 entry, every eligible child in categories 1 to 4 was offered a place, rank-score places went down to a score of 121 (the furthest 8.768 miles away), and distance places reached 1.263 miles.
Who gets priority
After children with an EHCP naming the school: (i) looked after and previously looked after children; (ii) up to 20 places for children eligible for free school meals now or in the previous 6 years (pupil premium), by score and then distance; (iii) children of staff with 2 years at Pioneer Educational Trust; (iv) children at the designated feeder schools, Foxborough Primary School and Trevelyan Middle School; (v) up to 120 places in rank order of score, reduced by any children admitted above; (vi) the remaining places up to 165 by straight-line distance, nearest first. There is no catchment area or sibling priority; ties go by distance and then by lot.
Registering
Online through the Consortium portal (https://slough.applicaa.com/entry2027) from 10am on Friday 1 May to 10am on Friday 5 June 2026, with a recent photo of the child; registering is not an application to any school. The test was on Saturday 19 September 2026 at the four grammar schools, results came out from 4pm on 15 October 2026, and the Common Application Form to the home council closed on 31 October 2026.
Open events
Open Mornings and Afternoons in June and July 2026 for Year 5 families and an Open Evening on Tuesday 22 September 2026. The next Open Evening is in September 2027 (4pm to 7pm, no booking), with Open Mornings and Afternoons in June and July 2027; no other tours are offered.
Good to know
Mixed 11 to 18 academy whose admission authority is Pioneer Educational Trust; Year 12 has 140 places with a minimum of 20 for external candidates (boys and girls). To be considered for the pupil premium places, parents email a letter from the primary school confirming free school meals to [email protected] by 31 October 2026; the family must have lived at the address from 1 May to 31 October 2026. The 2027 arrangements are the 2026 ones with the dates moved on. The applicant figure counts every Common Application Form naming the school (992 of them had scored 111 or more), and Slough Borough Council's allocation table gives the same 1,274. About 4,757 children sat the Consortium test in September 2026; offers come on 1 March 2027, and families can appeal a refusal but not the score.
