Langley Grammar School
Langley Grammar School in Slough is a mixed grammar school with 180 Year 7 places, taking children through the Slough Consortium test. A score of 111 makes a child eligible, and places then go by priority area and score, with up to 120 for its Priority Area 1 postcodes (SL3 7, SL3 8, SL3 9 and SL3 0) for 2027 entry.

Admissions
The test
The Slough Consortium 11+, set by GL Assessment for the Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools (Herschel, Langley, St Bernard's and Upton Court): one test for all four schools, two papers of about 60 to 65 minutes covering verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English and maths.
What qualifies
A standardised score of 111 or above (the top 35% of those tested) makes a child eligible; places then go by priority area and rank order of score. For 2026 entry, 100 children from Priority Area 1 were admitted with scores down to 113, and children from Priority Area 2 down to 119.
Who gets priority
After children with an EHCP naming the school and looked after or previously looked after children: (a) Priority Area 1 (postcodes SL3 7, SL3 8, SL3 9 and SL3 0), up to 120 places, pupil premium first and then by score; (b) pupil premium children in Priority Area 2; (c) children of staff with 2 years' service; (d) other Priority Area 2 children (SL0, SL1, SL2, the rest of SL3, SL4, TW18, TW19, TW20, UB3, UB4, UB7, UB8 and UB10) by score; (e) Priority Area 3 (SL5 to SL9, TW3 to TW5, TW7, TW13 to TW15, UB1, UB2, UB5, UB6, UB9, HA1 to HA6, W5, W7, W13, RG12 and RG42), pupil premium first and then by score; (f) everyone else by score. There is no sibling priority, and ties go to the child living nearest.
Registering
Online through the Consortium portal (https://slough.applicaa.com/entry2027) from 10am on Friday 1 May to 10am on Friday 5 June 2026, with a recent photo of the child; registering is not an application to any school. The test was on Saturday 19 September 2026 at the four grammar schools, results came out from 4pm on 15 October 2026, and the Common Application Form to the home council closed on 31 October 2026.
Open events
Open Mornings in June and July 2026 for Year 5 families, an Open Evening on Thursday 1 October 2026 (4.30pm to 8pm) and Open Mornings in October 2026. The next Open Evening is in September 2027, with Open Mornings and afternoons in June and July 2027; the school does not offer private tours.
Good to know
Mixed 11 to 18 academy; the sixth form takes a minimum of 20 external students (boys and girls). For 2027 entry the Priority Area 1 cap rises from 100 to 120 places and pupil premium priority is added within Priority Area 3; no supplementary form is needed, and the family must have lived at the address from 1 May to 31 October 2026. The applicant figure counts every Common Application Form naming the school (775 of them had scored 111 or more); Slough Borough Council's allocation table gives 1,058 preferences. About 4,757 children sat the Consortium test in September 2026; offers come on 1 March 2027, and families can appeal a refusal but not the score. Herschel's site says the Consortium moves to Quest Assessments for the September 2027 test (2028 entry).
