What score qualifies in Redbridge?

A minimum threshold total standardised score of 104: no one below 104 is ranked or put on a waiting list. Each school admits 180. Priority: looked-after and previously looked-after children; then 45 places (25%) for children entitled to pupil premium (including Ever 6) in score order; then children living in the 11+ Common Catchment Area in score order; then those outside it. Ties go to the shortest safe walking distance. The council says only children living in the Common Catchment Area have been admitted in the last 10 years.

Not confirmed yet

  • Whether the papers are multiple choice, and their timings, are not stated by the council or the schools
  • Registration window and test date for the September 2027 test (2028 entry) are not yet published (the 2027/28 arrangements say registration is usually 1 May to 15 June)
  • Redbridge's published 'registrations' and 'who sat the test' files for 2026 entry show identical totals (2,062), so the number registered as distinct from sitting is unclear

Good to know

Late testing and moving to the area

Late testing only for children registered on time who miss the test date, with a doctor's certificate or proof such as religious observance; none for those who register late or bring the wrong identification. In Years 7 to 9 a waiting list of applicants who reached the threshold is kept; no entry in Years 10 or 11.

Who runs admissions

The London Borough of Redbridge is the admission authority for both schools and registers and runs the test; applications go on the home council's common application form.
