Admissions
The test
The Bexley Selection Test, run by the London Borough of Bexley with papers from Quest Assessments: two multiple-choice papers of about 50 minutes each, covering verbal ability and English comprehension, numerical reasoning and non-verbal reasoning.
What qualifies
Children must be deemed selective: a total weighted age-standardised score (average 200) above the standard set by Bexley Council with the four grammar schools, which is not published as a number. For 2026 entry, 2,070 of the 5,866 children who sat were deemed selective.
Who gets priority
After children whose EHC plan names the school: looked-after and previously looked-after children; up to 12 places for Pupil Premium children, by distance (supplementary form needed); children with one of Bexley's highest 180 scores; siblings in Years 7 to 11; children of staff employed 2 or more years; then straight-line distance to the middle gate, with ties within 0.001 mile going to the higher score. The last place on National Offer Day 2026 went at 1.847 miles, and the school says 73% of last year's places went on distance.
Registering
Online with the London Borough of Bexley from 1 March to midnight on 31 March 2026, with no late registrations and no appeal. The test was sat between 2 and 10 September 2026 at primary schools acting as test centres, or 7 to 10 September 2026 at the four grammar schools, with results emailed from 4pm on Friday 2 October 2026; families then name the school on their home council's Common Application Form by 31 October 2026.
Open events
Open mornings for families of Year 6 children who are deemed selective on 13, 14 and 15 October 2026, booked through Eventbrite. The sixth form open evening is on Tuesday 10 November 2026 (5:30pm to 8pm).
Good to know
A mixed grammar school from Year 7 to the sixth form; Year 12 has 280 places, at least 30 of them for external students, and follows an A level pathway from September 2026 (the school previously offered the IB Diploma). The Pupil Premium supplementary form was due by 31 October 2026. The school keeps a waiting list until at least 31 December, and appeals are lodged by the end of March after offers on 1 March 2027.
